 Mormon city! Well, Latter Day Saints as they prefer to be known by nowadays. AND host to the 2002 winter Olympics.

Lovely town with great Skiing between November and March and great river rides for the summer. Views amazing and people really nice. Plenty of outdoorsy things to do but apart from that, there isn't really much to get you going here. Its a great kids and family vacation place to go.

Things you must do

  1. Go to Park City for a fun evening - this is relative to SLC levels of course.
  2. Visit the LDS Tabernacle (their church)
  3. Check out the Snowbird resort and get up the cable car (they call it the 'Gondola' or 'Tram') to Hidden Peak where you will be rewarded with a spectacular views of the mountains and canyons.

Salt Lake City (SLC)

Restaurants

  • Miramar, 342 West 1300 South, SLC, UT 84115.  (T: 801 484 2877). Very good Mexican food, very authentic and delicious. Admittedly not the most fancy looking place but the food more than makes up for it. cool.gif (111 bytes)

Park City

  • Riverhorse Cafe, 540 Main Street, Park City, UT 84060. (T: 435 649 3536; F: 435 649 2409). Excellent restaurant in Park City. We had fish and steak and all delicious! Highly recommended. cool.gif (111 bytes)
  • Wassatch Brewery, 250 Main Street, Park City, UT (T: 435 649 0900). This is a brewery that serves its own beer and makes a great selection of pub-style food, much of it beer flavoured. Great Place.

Midvale

  • Famous Dave's, 1166 E. Fort Union Boulevard, Midvale, UT 84047 (T: 801 566 4442; F: 801 566 4443). Wonderful meat lovers restaurant! Ribs, Ribs and more Ribs are their speciality and they deliver 100%. cool.gif (111 bytes)

Hotels

  • Marriott City Centre, 220 South State Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84111. (T: 801 961 8700; F: 801 961 8704). Very decent hotel with excellent catering for the business user. Rooms spacious with good working space and complimentary high speed internet access in the rooms. Restaurant OK and a Starbucks exists from the lobby for those morning drinks. Good location in town close to all the major sites/shopping centre.
